How did Mark Zuckerberg become successful? Was he in college when he started Facebook? Did he drop out due to stress? Or was it something else that caused him to leave Harvard?

A brief history of Facebook

Mark Zuckerberg, founder, and CEO of Facebook was born and raised in White Plains, New York. He attended Phillips Exeter Academy, an elite preparatory school in New Hampshire, where he was captain of the fencing team. In his sophomore year at Harvard University, he created Facemash, which became known as Facebook and was used by students on campus to rank the attractiveness of their classmates. It wasn’t long before Harvard shut it down due to privacy violations. Undeterred, Zuckerberg started FaceMash 2.0 for Boston area colleges only; however, that site also closed soon after it opened. He then met a young man named Eduardo Saverin who would be instrumental in taking over FaceMash and turning it into what we know today as Facebook Inc.

How Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of college

  • Mark Zuckerberg is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and co-founder of Facebook. He was born on May 14, 1984, in White Plains, NY. Mark graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and enrolled at Harvard University for two years before dropping out. Facebook was founded on February 4th, 2004 and it now has over 2 billion active users. The company employs more than 25,000 people worldwide who are mostly located in Silicon Valley. The company’s net worth as of 2017 is $465 billion which makes it one of the top five most valuable companies in the world.
  • Mark is currently worth around $70 Billion dollars making him one of the richest men on earth.

As we can see from this blog post, he really worked hard to get where he needed to be.

What made Facebook so successful

  • It was Zuckerberg’s intelligence and drive that enabled him to create Facebook, even though he didn’t finish his degree. He dropped out of Harvard after one semester because he felt like he had learned enough to continue on his own path. And now, with an estimated net worth of $33 billion, Zuckerberg is one of the richest people in the world. For example, when he announced his plan for a free Internet service for India and other countries this month.
  • He has also pledged 99% of his shares to charity.

Zuckerberg might have been too young at the time to know what was best for himself but now it looks like he knows exactly what’s best for himself!

Why dropping out of college was the best thing for Zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of college and became one of the richest men in the world. He dropped out because he wanted to start Facebook and felt like he could learn everything he needed to know from his dorm room. This turned out to be a good choice for him as Facebook has grown into one of the most popular social media sites in history. But, he is not an exception; many people who have achieved great success have never gone to college.

Mark Zuckerberg had other interests that made school difficult: After working on what would eventually become Facebook, Mark didn’t really want to go back to class so he used money that was given by various investors and focused on his passion instead of finishing his education.
